My office is actually the formal dining room in our house. Since we eat at the kitchen table, we use the extra space as my office. I'm lucky to have a sister who enjoys decorating. She helped me choose a lot of the pieces and put it all together.

The big black thing on top of the desk is an old window frame from a building that was being remodeled at a local university. We found it at a garage sale. The ceramic cat is also from a garage sale.
This is the perfect chair for reading. My mom wasn't using it anymore, but it was in a floral fabric. At the fabric store, I heard about a lady who did re-upholstery out of her home, and she recovered it for me in the hounds tooth. It was much more affordable than finding a new chair. I spray painted the mirror black and found the antique typewriter in front of the mirror at a garage sale for $5. Do you see a theme here? I love garage sales!
I'd love to see pictures of your garden or your office. If you post them, please leave me a link to your blog in my comments.
I don't have a picture of my writing space. Wah.
ReplyDeleteBut I love yours--especially the "CREATE" sign. And what a great reading chair! YOu'd never get me out of it. LOL!
OMGosh! I have office and house and furniture envy. Thanks. And BTW, you would cry a bucket of tears if you saw any of the above that belonged to me. ;) Have a GREAT weekend Julie!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, beautiful space, Julie!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great space! My office is wherever I drag my laptop. Sometimes the kitchen table, sometimes the recliner, sometimes Starbucks.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful office, Julie! I have a small desk in the corner of our dining room which sometimes has to function as a sideboard! LOL.
ReplyDeleteLove the creative things you've done with garage sale treasures.

Love your office!!! Currently I work from the kitchen table and have my writing stuff scattered all over! It's tough, but at this stage in my kids' lives, I need a central location where I can still keep track of everyone, but attempt to work!
