Today is my 32nd birthday. This morning I received an email ... from myself. :)
The following is an e-mail from the past, composed 5 years ago in 2007. It is being delivered from the past through FutureMe.org
Dear FutureMe,
You may not remember writing this, but this is you at 27. There are several good things going on right now in my life. Kevin and I just bought a new house and are trying to have a baby. I want to be a writer and a mother so bad that it hurts. I hope those things happen for me in the future. If not, I hope that I'm trusting God and clinging to my relationship with Kevin.
I hope that by the time I read this again that I will have learned how not to worry so much. So, my biggest message to you right now is to relax. God is in control. Love ya'.
J
What would you tell your future self?
What would you tell your future self?
Awesome! Happy Birthday, Julie! I'm sending you a hug! I love when wishes come true.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Me too!
DeleteHappy birthday! You're a writer!! Yes, God is in control, and God is GOOD.
ReplyDelete:) Thank you!
DeleteHappy birthday! This is so cool! The old you sounds like a sweetheart :) and she gave you some great advice. I hope you enjoy your special day!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!! That's such a neat idea. I might have to send myself an email. I think it will read much like yours did above. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't even remember where I heard about the site, but it's a lot of fun!
DeleteHappy birthday! I'm happy that you're dreams came to pass :-) I need to check this site out.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Brandi!
DeleteAwesome! Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome idea - and Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Julie! What a wonderful letter to yourself. So glad that many of your dreams have come true. Wishing big birthday wishes for many, many more happy dreams to come true!
ReplyDeleteLove
Sue
Thank you! So sweet of you to say.
DeleteHappy Birthday! I think I would give myself the advice, don't worry so much.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I guess that's a theme. What's funny is that looking back I think - what did I have to worry about at 27? Most of my worries today are about my child and my writing career, two things I didn't have at 27. :)
DeleteThat is so cool!! Do you do that every year or did you just randomly choose 27?
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Julie!
I don't really remember. LOL. Who knows when I'll get another one? I guess that's the fun of it. I would like to send myself another one to myself at 37.
DeleteHappy birthday a day late!! I would tell my future self not to worry...God's got a plan...and no matter how awesome I think *my* plan sounds, his is 100 times better. :)
ReplyDeleteAmen to that!
DeleteI just turned 32 recently - and we're both celebrating 11 years of marriage this year! Good life plan. :) Wow - what would I tell my future self? 1) You will survive twins, 2) God's got it covered & 3) Take off a couple of pounds so the future me doesn't have to worry about it. :)
ReplyDelete:) It's always good when your past self has a sense of humor.
DeleteLOL That's awesome! Happy Birthday, Julie!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a super cool thing, and Happy Birthday! My creative writing teacher in high school did something similiar. We wrote letters to our future selves and then she kept them and mailed them to us some years later. It was funny to read what I had projected for my life and what actually happened. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm late, but Happy Birthday Jules! Totally neat website/idea! I have no idea what I would tell myself. Probably something boring like don't let the laundry pile up...you'll never escape. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool idea...I've never heard of that website before. And I would tell myself to slow down and treasure my family time more. Hope you had a great birthday, Julie! :)
ReplyDeleteLove that!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, girl!
that's just way too cool! And a massively belated Happy B to one of my favorite online buddies! :)
