My to-be-read pile usually ends up on or in my nightstand--along with a photo of my family, a bottle of water, and a little too much dust. Right now I'm reading Wildflowers from Winter by Katie Ganshert!
Where do you keep your stack of books to be read? What's on your nightstand?
Oh, my nightstand is not even close to being as neat as yours! I've got two stacks of books, a collection of kid artwork, my ugly old alarm clock, and a pretty thick layer of dust to top it all off.
ReplyDeleteI may or may not have tidied my nightstand up a bit. ;)
DeleteI really enjoyed Katie's book.
ReplyDeleteMy desk is on my side of the bed. So my entire writing world watches over me as I sleep. I also keep a bottle of water, y phone (on vibrate) and a tube of Nivea A Kiss of Smoothness. I'm a freak about coating that on my lips at night. :)
I don't think I could have my desk by my bed. I think I would dream about my book all night. When I was in college, I couldn't leave my backpack beside my bed or I would dream about school all night.
DeleteI'm with you on the chapstick. I keep carmex in my nightstand drawer.
Your nightstand is so cute! I've got a lamp too, plus a little alarm clock and Susan May Warren's My Foolish Heart! Then...a little to the right of my nightstand, I have a basket. Literally full of books. My TBR pile. It's very large. Very.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I really want to read that one, and I want to see a picture of your basket of books!
DeleteOh how cute! And my books are all over my house. Friend came over recently and looked at me in shock. "Are you seriously reading all these?" No, I really wasn't, but I love my flapped over books scattered about. :D
ReplyDelete~ Wendy
Thanks! Non book lovers just don't get it ;)
DeleteMy to-be-read stash is on the floor in our living room. I love sifting through my tower! :)
ReplyDeleteNice! You could start decorating it for the holidays. Maybe wrap some Christmas lights around it in December.
DeleteI just have a pile of books on the floor by my bed, a very large pile. :) The Bible is on top though! I love your picture frame!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lisa. I think my sister gave me that picture frame. I'm loving that everyone has huge piles of books!
DeleteMy nightstand holds a lamp I've had since 8th grade (a sentimental thing), bottle of water, lip balm, clock and usually jewelry I've taken off and set there. My stack of books is on the bottom shelf of my nightstand.
ReplyDeleteA lot of jewelry and hair stuff ends up on my nightstand too. :)
DeleteI have a pile of books that threatens to topple over on me in my sleep. The latest Anne Perry, a couple of writing how-to books, a biography of Charlie Siringo, a history book on the first two decades of the 20th century, my Kindle, and a clock I can barely see behind everything else. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a well-read nightstand. :)
DeleteI thought for sure once I bought a Nook that the pile of books would be no more. But alas, not the case! What ends up on the nightstand rotates and there's never quite enough room. I think I need an actual table.
ReplyDeleteOh books!! My piles (yes, plural) are scattered. I have one stack by my bed, one by my desk and another downstairs by my couch. Not to mention the Kindle that travels with me. Your nightstand is way too clean and organized!!! Mine is a mess! LOL
ReplyDeleteMine has its moments where it's a mess. My son likes to eat cereal and drink milk in our bed :)
DeleteKatie's book is fantastic! Right now, most of my TBR books are on my Kindle, so hooray for saving space. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm loving Katie's book!
DeleteFinishing Stacy Henrie's Lady Outlaw - next - Be Still My Soul - Joanne Bischof.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read those!
DeleteRight now I am reading the 12 book Cedar Cove Series by Debbie McComber and I keep the books in a shopping bag. It is the bag my friend/co-worker brought the books in when she let me borrow them. I've been moving from one house to another and I thought that would be the safest place to keep them.
ReplyDeleteMy other books are either on my nightstand, in a drawer of my nightstand, or on the bookcase in my office on the other side of the house. Needless to say the piles keep rotating as each book gets closer to being read. My husband took over my Kindle and I now have a Nook which is safely tucked in the open shelf of my nightstand. I'm never without something to read...
You're definitely not going to run out of reading material, but that's a great thing. :)
DeleteMy pile wouldn't fit on my nightstand. I'm really behind. But right now I'm reading Brandilyn Collins' Double Blind. Great so far, and then it's on to the next one!
ReplyDeleteIt would take me years to read all the books on my Kindle, but I can't resist getting more.
DeleteMy nightstand has a lamp, clock radio (set very loud!), my booklight, telephone, the latest book I'm reading and a small journal with pen. Oh, and a glass of water.
ReplyDeleteHow is Katie's book so far? I haven't had the chance to get it yet!
Cheers,
Sue
Katie's book is excellent. You should definitely add it to your TBR pile.
DeleteGood question since I can't use my nightstand right now--the bedroom we are living in won't fit it!! LOL So my husband has his and I use a chair for my books:))
ReplyDeleteWhatever works! :)
DeleteMy nightstand has a lamp, an alarm clock, and books! Always books. Right now I'm re-reading Fortune's Rocks by Anita Shreve, one of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to add that one to my list, Julie.
DeleteSo much fun! Thanks for blessing me this morning, Julie!
ReplyDeleteRight now on my nigh stand I have The Pirate Queen by Patricia Hickman and The Soul Saver by Dineen Miller (I haven't started either yet, but they are waiting patiently). A picture of me and my sister-in-law, a clock, a lamp that doesn't work, and a highlighter. :)
I'm loving your story, Katie!
DeleteAmazingly enough, I just cleaned off my nightstand today! A true rarity. There is usually a stack of books I have finished and a few left TBR. There is a framed picture of me and my hubby, a lamp I never use, a thick layer of dust-like you ;), a few spare diapers very seldom stacked neatly, and whatever clips, bobbypins or ponytail holders I tugged out before crashing. The top of my TBR is Candace Calvert's Trauma Plan.
ReplyDeleteI use to have that stack of diapers :) It's kind of sad that we've outgrown that stage.
DeleteYour bedsite looks neat compared to mine. I have a big heap of books tottering on mine!
ReplyDeleteYou should see the mess inside the drawers. :)
DeleteI have a STACK or two by my bed. It's awful. I wish I had more time to read. Your bedside is way neater than mine.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had more time to read too. There are too many great books out there that I haven't had time to get to.
