NaNoEdMo

It's official. I need goals...and a deadline. In the past three months since National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) I've added 15,000 words to my manuscript and edited four chapter. Not terrible, but at this rate it will take me all year to finish this book. That's why I'm embarking on the NaNoEdMo / Novel Track Editing challenge this year with a goal of editing for 50 hours during the month of March. I'll be updating my status on the NaNoEdMo page I created.

Whether you're editing, writing, or have a completely different goal, I'd love for you to join me. Post your goals and your progress in the comments of my NaNoEdMo page and we'll cheer each other on!

Have you ever participated in NaNoWriMo or NaNoEdMo?

  1. I've not participated, but have set my own goals during NaNo. Right now for me, it's the quality, not the quantity, of my writing that I'm striving for.

    You go girl!

  2. Never participated but wanted to. I'm about to begin editing a new book so I'll join in! But I have to finish this proposal first, probably be done by Friday!

  3. I've never done either, but I'm with you. I need a deadline because then it becomes almost a game - something I can work to beat. :)

  4. I didn't even realize there was a NaNoEdMo, lol. But since I'm deep in edits in my m/s, I'll do some form it for sure. Good luck! :)

  5. Does it count in participating if your spouse partakes in those events?

  7. My problem is NaNoWriMo and NaNoEdMo never fall in the right months for me. :) Seems like I'm always ready to start a new book around March-ish and then ready to edit like crazy around November. Maybe it's the Iowa girl in me - planting in spring, harvesting in fall. But I know both are great pushes to make forward progress!

    Best wishes with your editing!

  8. Hi Julie,

I'm doing Speedbo for the month of March over at Seekerville. I don't know if I'll get a whole book done, but I'm dying to start another story. So we'll see how it goes. It gives me motivation for sure. I'm going to try for 1,000-1,500 words per day. Plus in my spare time I'll edit my other historical (which shall remain nameless due to contest guidelines!).

    Good luck with your editing!

    Cheers,
    Sue

  11. I have not participated in either one, but I'm certainly cheering for you! And I can't wait to hear that your WIP is finished!

Thanks, too, for your thought at my blog! It's always great to see you!
