Dream Writing Spaces

I love procrastinating on Houzz.com. I especially like looking amazing home offices.

What would your perfect home office look like?

  1. Neat and tidy! Not like my hurricane self blew through

    1. I can't write with too much clutter. My solution - hide it. :)

  2. Just give me a door to close (and lock) and I'd be good. Writing in my kitchen while the kids argue in the next room hardly qualifies as an office. :)

Hope you have a great weekend, Julie!

    1. I have a home office, but it's meant to be the formal dining room, so there is no door. Not ideal, but it works for now.

  3. Oh, I love those offices! My desk (not really an office) is right at the corner of the living room. I actually don't mind the noise, I like having background noise while I work, but it would be nice to have a little more space so I can organize better. Oh, and of course I'd have access to music and a great view. I'd LOVE a window with a great view.

    1. A beautiful view would be great. I did move my desk beside the window. It's just a view of the neighborhood, but it's better than staring at the wall.

  4. Oh my goodness, I love them all. But that top one?! Be still my heart... :)

    1. Aren't all the built-ins amazing? Love it.

  5. I do love the second one...but I can't have windows. I end up staring out and nothing gets done on paper. Although we do have a home office, I end up writing on the laptop in bed most of the time.

    1. Me too! I have an office, but I'm at the kitchen table right now.

  6. I think I'd like the second one the best. All those soft colors. The wall color there matches the wall color in my office at home. :)

  8. My office is in the doorless closet of my playroom...someday I'll have the whole room, but for now the playroom stays since it's the family's bread and butter. My ideal writer's office will be filled with white, turquoise and lots of light. And shelves upon shelves for my books. And a comfy reading chair.

    1. I don't have a door either. I could move my office to the room where my husband's deer heads hang on the wall. That would get me a door, but I don't think writing with those guys would help my creativity. :)

  10. We just moved into our house a year ago and I have this space in the walkout basement that faces the Mississippi River. It's a three season area and we hope to insulate it and turn the whole room into part of the family room. There is a double sided fireplace in there and it's tucked into the corner - where no one could bother me! I'm hoping we'll be able to work on it this winter, because it will make the most amazing office...ahhh... I have some pictures of it here: http://gabrielle-meyer.blogspot.com/2012/05/dreaming.html
