Motivation

I want to hear from you. What do you do to keep yourself motivated when things get tough?

  1. Most the time I step back, take a deep breath, and realize it's okay to relax for a few. Usually while I'm relaxing is the time when inspiration and motivation strike again.

  2. Walk away. Breathe. Watch a movie. Blog. Eat chocolate.

  3. With sporadic success? I connect with some folks who recharge me and help me along the way. I'm way more motivated when I feel like I'm not alone.

    1. I don't know what I would do without all the writers I've met through ACFW!

  4. Coffee! Lots and lots of coffee. :)

And definitely friends, especially the ones who know the specifics of my goals and hold me accountable.

  5. Do I really need to say it??? :) Ok. Outside of coffee...my husband truly helps me stay accountable and motivated. Sometimes just the necessity of life does that too--there's not the option to fall into the grass and stare at the sky and give up. Finding the deeper meaning in each thing that I do gives me the drive to push forward.

  6. Sometimes I don't. I just need the break. Other times, someone tosses out a bet and my drive to compete keeps me motivated. And sometimes, I focus on why I'm writing and that keeps me going. :)
